Balance Sheet

The Balance Sheet provides an overview of a client's assets, liabilities and net worth, featuring warm visuals that clearly convey information to clients. This area can be accessed within the Dashboard > Balance Sheet tab of each client plan:
There are three subtabs within the Balance Sheet area: Current, Details, and Historical. See below for an overview of each subtab.

Current Tab

The Current tab of the Balance Sheet highlights a client's current assets, liabilities, and overall net worth via a simple, easily digestible bar chart. Hover your mouse over the chart to view specific dollar values. As a client's assets and liabilities change, this chart will be updated automatically. The date in which the information was last updated will appear at the top of the chart:
Clicking the Details button at the bottom of the page will cause additional information to appear beneath the bar chart. Here you will find a breakdown of asset and liability types and current dollar values, which together represent the data in the bar graph:
Important Note on Linked Accounts
Please note that any accounts that are linked over the weekend will not be reflected within the Balance Sheet until the following Monday. Manually added accounts will always update the Balance sheet instantly, even on weekends.

Details

The Details tab provides a more granular look at the individual accounts that make up a client's balance sheet. Accounts are organized by asset category, and dollar values are separated by owner:

Category

Description

Cash

Reflects all Bank accounts entered within the Net Worth section of the Profile.

Invested Assets

Reflects all Investment accounts entered within the Net Worth section of the Profile.

Other Assets

Reflects all Properties, Stock Plans, and Other Assets entered within the Net Worth section of the Profile.

Liabilities

Reflects all Credit Cards and Loans entered within the Net Worth section of the Profile.

Note on Trusts

If there are any trust-owned assets within the plan, an additional "Trust" column will populate:

Revocable trusts will be included under "Invested Assets", while Irrevocable trusts will be included under "Other Assets".

The "Invested Asset" section of the detailed balance sheet will separate qualified and non-qualified assets. Taxable accounts, deferred comp plans, NQ pension plans, NQ annuities, ESPPs, and revocable trusts will reflect as non-qualified invested assets. All other accounts will be classified as qualified.

Clicking the blue Download button in the upper right of this page will export the detailed balance sheet as a CSV file. You can then open this file within Excel, Numbers, or any other spreadsheet software to view the information:

Historical

The Historical tab tracks and displays a household's historical net worth information. Use the filter in the upper right to dial in a time frame:

'Last 30 days' will show daily values from the prior 30 days. Hover your mouse over the chart to view dollar values at various points in time. The 'Last 6 months', 'Last 12 months', and 'All time' options will show month-end values over the respective time periods, as well as the current value to the far right of the chart. Please note that the 'All time' option reflects values dating back as far as January 31, 2018.

Default Chart Timing

The chart timing defaults to the last 12 months; you can adjust the default for new clients within the Client Settings > Client Presets tab of your advisor portal.

You can click on the chart's name to reveal a dropdown menu with several other options. These charts highlight historical assetsliabilities, and investments in particular:
